VNS Home Care
Home health care services, offered by VNS Home Care, assist homebound individuals with health and medical conditions that can be treated at home. Home health aides assist with personal care and basic health care needs. Skilled health care services may include home visits and rehabilitative support from registered nurses (RNs), physical therapists, occupational therapists, or speech therapists.
Medicare will pay for home care when skilled services are necessary, usually following a surgery or acute care stay in a hospital or facility. Persons are considered home bound if they have an illness or injury which restricts their ability to leave the home unless assisted by others. VNS Home Care is a non-profit home health care provider. Senior Companion Services
VNS of Iowa's Senior Companion program provides support to adults through regular home visits. Trained Senior Companions help their clients maintain happy, healthy lives. The program is offered at no charge to residents of Polk or Warren counties who are 21 or older and need extra support to continue to live independently in their homes. Call (515) 558-9957 to see if you or a loved one may be eligible for Senior Companion visits.
HCI Hospice Care Services
HCI Hospice Care Services assists people with life-limiting illnesses and supports their families. Hospice addresses many of the things people fear, such as living in pain, being alone, being a burden on family caregivers or not being in charge of health care decisions.
Hospice focuses on what is important to the individual and works to support his or her quality of life goals. Hospice relieves pain and symptoms, offers in-home visits from a team of clinical and psycho-social experts, provides assistance from caring volunteers and offers counseling, support and understanding to patients and their family members. Questions about hospice? Visit the HCI Care Services website to learn more, or call (800) 806-9934 and ask to speak with an admissions specialist.
