Living Our Mission: Visual Smoke Alarm
on Thursday, March 23, 2017
1st Five and Connections staff worked together to find visual smoke alarms to be provided and installed free of charge for a nine-year-old child who is hearing impaired.
After losing contact with the family, our staff went above and beyond to ensure the family was able to connect with the electrician and fire marshal to receive the necessary safety equipment.
1st Five recognized the language and cultural barriers faced by this family and continued to provide care even though the child’s age is outside the targeted referral range.
